From the Institute of Southern Studies:

Number of tax cuts passed in 2001 that go into effect this year: 2

Percent of the benefits of these cuts that will go to people making over $200,000 a year: 97

Amount those individuals will gain from the cuts over the next five years: $27 billion

Cost of Katrina relief package signed by President Bush in December: $29 billion

Amount of that total that was a re-allocation of money already appropriated: $17.5 billion

Total cost of the Iraq war, according to a recent academic study: up to $2 trillion
