Curious?

I know you might be wondering why Sanskrit is relevant, so here is a brief explanation from Wikipedia. Enjoy.

This is new to me, too.

For the second time in my life I donated money towards a Congressional race that I do not live in. Paul Hackett served in Iraq, and is now running for Congress in Ohio. I know the fundraiser for John Pavich, an ex-CIA spook running for Congress in Illinois.

A fork in the road.

from Common Dreams

The National Socialist party slogan was “Kinder, Küche, Kirche”. This tranlates into English as "Children, Kitchen, Church." The slogan of the grand National Socialist party seems to fit well with what moral conservatives in the United States would like to implement.

These are values that most people would agree with. It's not bad. There is however one, rather huge, negative.

The Nationalist Socialist party was the Nazi party.

Contrary to popular belief, Captain Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty" in any episode.

Get there, and stay there.

"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office."

Right-wingers blame the media

"Support for the Iraq war is at an all-time low, and some Republicans blame the media and its '24/7 news coverage of car bombs,' which 'tends to leave a certain impression.' You know, that's so true. You never hear about the cars that DON'T blow up."
--Jon Stewart

Change of Priorities

Somewhere along the line, being a "God-fearing Christian" changed from humility, compassion, and kindness. Reading this website it's a wonder anyone ever converted in the first place.

How does hatred, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness fit into the Biblical principles?

This nation was founded on Biblical principles. That is the argument of the neo-conservative right-wing movement. So we should have state-sponsored religion. That is the solution.

Where were these state-sponsored religious people when legal slavery was practiced?
Where was the moral superiority when hatred of people of different skin colors was rampant?
Where is the moral superiority of the right-wingers in dealing with poverty?

Please show me how state-sponsored religion is a good thing (e.g. the Taliban, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, and the Spanish Inquisition).

The separation of Church and State is required not for the protection of the Church from the State, but for protection of the State from the Church.

The practical application and the ideology of right-wing Christians do not agree.

What would Jesus do?

"And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Mark 12:17

Esta Pecado Tambien

"Some 'Christians' are going to get a big surprise when they get to heaven and find that hatred is a sin too."
